7 Shocking Reasons Why the Traditional Jesus Is NOT the Biblical Messiah

So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the WHOLE world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
~Revelation 12:9 (NKJV and all throughout)

To what extent has this infallible Scripture been fulfilled in our day — concerning the identity of the true Messiah?

Surprisingly, most people today have been deceived into believing in a counterfeit, fake Messiah called Jesus!

Read on to find out exactly how, and why.

As this world focuses and celebrates Christmas today, it’s high time we evaluated what we are doing and what we are believing in. We need to carefully sift truth from error. Let’s make sure we are truly honoring and worshipping the real One, rather than a fake, made-up personality who probably did not even exist in history!

Shockingly — due to clever and massive Satanic deception, plus the sad lack of proper knowledge and information — this world has mistakenly or innocently been celebrating for more than a thousand years a false personality named Jesus! And most surprisingly, this Jesus is NOT that biblical Messiah, who is the real Son of God.

Let’s open-mindedly read on to find out why.

Christ’s Warning

Please remember Christ’s warning. When He was here on earth, Christ condemned those who kept false traditions rather than obeying the truth. He said, “And in vain [do] they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men” (Matthew 15:9; Mark 7:7). In other words, it is possible to have been celebrating and honoring Him all these years, but yet all in vain!

In this article, we are going to examine seven surprising reasons or stark differences between the traditional Jesus this world honors on Christmas and, in contrast, the true biblical Messiah.

The Importance of Background Identity

We are all familiar with the importance of background facts when it comes to establishing the true identity of an individual — name, date of birth, parentage, etc. Every national government office keeps a record of such personal background information as a means to verify a person’s true identity and as a basis for issuing a passport or other personal identifying document. No one can rightly claim an identity outside of existing records or documents.

Now, let us apply these various criteria in the case of the traditional Jesus. Have we done our homework to identify whether we are worshipping the true Messiah or just an impostor?

7 Shocking Differences or Discrepancies With Existing Biblical Records

1. The Messiah Was Not Born on December 25

Even in our human experience, this is one of the most important, basic, vital, and critical facts to truly identify a certain individual. In the case of the biblical Messiah, the Bible gives us abundant historical records surrounding circumstances of His date of birth.

Clearly and definitely, the false claim of December 25 as the date of the true Messiah’s birth is absolutely wrong and therefore does NOT identify Him as that true Messiah. Records show that He was NOT born on or even near that date, in the middle of winter. This widely believed and celebrated claim is just a human fabrication and is totally FAKE!

What Evidence Do We Have?

The careful Gospel writer and Greek historian Luke meticulously records at least four important facts surrounding Christ’s birth—all of which point away from that false December 25 date. What are these four facts?

A. The Empire-wide Roman Census and Taxation (Luke 2:1-5). The top leadership of the powerful Roman empire — with the added wisdom of the Roman Senate — would never contemplate an empire-wide census and taxation in the middle of a cold winter season.

B. The warm weather then was suitable for feeding flocks even at night (Luke 2:8). This event can never happen during winter when it is very cold outdoors and the fields can occasionally be covered with snow, hiding the grass underneath. Also, all shepherds know that sheep would refuse to stay out in the fields if it was really a winter season.

C. The newly-born Messiah was just wrapped in swaddling clothes (Luke 2:7, 12). If He was supposed to be born in winter, Joseph and Mary would have prepared in advance thick “woolen” [Greek G2053; GK2250] “erion” clothes for the Child, but they did not. Please note also that the word “swaddling” (mentioned twice, even used as a sign to identify that Child) comes from the Greek word [G4683; GK5058] “sparganoo” which simply means “strips of long cloth” — definitely not woolen clothing.

D. All the inns were fully occupied when they arrived (Luke 2:7). When Joseph and Mary arrived late in the day in Bethlehem due to slow travel owing to her advanced pregnancy, there were no longer any inns available. The important question to ask is: Why?

Most Bible readers are not aware that the Roman authorities were very wise in scheduling the Census and Taxation of the Jews to coincide with their God-commanded seventh-month annual festivals right after the summer harvest season (Leviticus 23:23-44). With their habitual annual festival pilgrimage to Jerusalem, and with income from their recent harvest, the plan for that Roman Census and Taxation of the Jews would be a sure success.

When Was Christ Really Born?

There is much speculation and scholarly studies regarding the exact date when the Messiah was born. But based on scriptural evidence, it is obvious that the Messiah was born in the seventh month [September-October in the Roman Calendar], coinciding with the seventh-month annual festivals commanded by God (Leviticus 23:23-44). There is also strong evidence that He could have been born on the Feast of Trumpets (or Tishri 1). However, unlike the annual Holy Days of God which give us exact date reckonings, the Bible is surprisingly silent about His actual birth date. This is, therefore, an indication that God does NOT want us to celebrate His birthday. Besides that, let us remember that His actual existence is from eternity (John 1:1-2).

2. The Traditional Jesus’ Nativity Scene Is False

This world has been given the popular but false idea concerning His birth with the “Nativity Scene” (also called “Belen”). But what are the true facts?

A. There were no animals in the manger. With their shepherds, all animals have been out in the fields even at night and could have stayed there for many weeks already since early summer (Luke 2:8). And when the shepherds were suddenly notified about the birth of Christ, “they came with haste” to find where the Child was (Luke 2:16). Obviously, there was no time for carrying or dragging animals with them, thus no animals were in the manger.

B. There were no three kings in the manger. The Bible indicates “wise men” [Greek G3097; GK3407] or “magi” came from the East (Matthew 2:1). If Matthew really meant “kings,” he would have used the Greek word [G935; GK995] “basileus” but he did not. Besides this, there is no mention that there were just three of them.

Why “from the East”? Historical studies show that when King Cyrus allowed the return of the captive Jews to their native land in Israel, a substantial number preferred to stay in Babylon and grew in population. Some knowledgeable ones among them determined that the star (Numbers 24:17) they saw at the time of Christ’s birth was a signal for them to visit the birth of such a noble King.

C. The arrival of the wise men was not at the manger, but in a house (Matthew 2:11). By this time, the “babe” (Luke 2:12) [G1025; GK1100] was no longer [Greek] a “brephos” but was now a “child” (Matthew 2:11) [G3813; GK4086] [Greek] a “paidion.”

The distance from Babylonia to Jerusalem was about 1,000 miles (1,609 km.), following the Fertile Crescent Route. Some scholars estimate the total travel time (including constantly replenishing their food supplies along the long route) to have taken them about a year’s journey. King Herod, (to be sure he kills the Christ-child), doubled the age based on his inquiry from the wise men, of boys to be killed to two years old (Matthew 2:16).

3. The Messiah Was Not the Only Child Since Mary Had Several Other Children

Contrary to popular beliefs, there is absolutely NO biblical proof that His mother Mary was a perpetual virgin. After giving birth to only one child, common knowledge tells us that she was no longer a virgin. How much more giving birth to about eight children?

What Evidence Do We Have?

Biblical testimony reveals that Christ had at least four other brothers (all named), and at least three sisters, due to the grammatical language used. If He had only one sister, the language would have been, “Is not His sister with us?” If He had two, the language would have been “Are not both His sisters with us?” Since the actual language says, “Are not all His sisters with us?” denotes having at least three sisters. With the four named brothers, and His three sisters plus Himself, that makes at least eight children having been born from His mother, Mary (Matthew 13:55, 56; Mark 6:3).

For more details on this topic, please read the article on this website: Where is the Proof of Mary’s Perpetual Virginity?

4. The Messiah Was Not Homeless or Penniless

Contrary to popular beliefs, Christ was not a wandering vagabond without his own house to dwell in. He did not just depend on people’s kindness to Him. This type of false belief came as a result of misinterpreting Christ’s statement when He replied: ‘And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head”’ (Matthew 8:20; Luke 9:58).

The context of these two verses was when He was still “walking along the road.” A certain person came to Him seeking the benefit of free lodging and support from Him by saying, “I will follow you wherever you go” (Luke 9:57, NIV). Obviously, along the road, He had no proper place to lay His head, but that was just a temporary situation. He was actually a wealthy man.

What Evidence Do We Have?

A. The actual fact is that Christ was obviously financially well-prepared for His ministry, having operated the only construction business in His city of Nazareth until the age of 30, saving as much funds as He could. When He called the 12 disciples to follow Him, it was also obvious that He was prepared to feed them for the 3 1/2 years they were with Him, and also to support the family of Peter who was already married then (Matthew 8:14).

B. Not only that, but Christ obviously owned at least three houses. One of which was near the Sea of Galilee (Matthew 13:1, 36). The second was His own house in the city of Nazareth (Matthew 13:57). His third house was in Bethany, on the other side of the Jordan, where He hosted two of His disciples for the night (John 1:28; 38-39).

C. The true Messiah had the marks of a wealthy man. One of His garments at the time of His crucifixion was a robe (or coat) which was seamless from top to bottom. It was so rare, specially made, and expensive that the soldiers who crucified Him did not want to damage it in any way, but contented themselves by casting lots for it (Matthew 27:35; John 19:23, 24).

5. The Messiah Was a Well-Built, Muscular Man

Contrary to the common and popular image of the traditional Jesus who was lanky in physical build, somewhat effeminate in appearance, and with long flowing hair, the biblical Messiah did NOT look like that.

What Evidence Do We Have?

A. He was a noted house builder for the most part of his first 30 years of life. At that time, there were no power tools or mechanized equipment to help make work easier. Plywood was not yet invented, and He had to work with big heavy pieces of lumber. Massive stones were manually cut in the hillside quarry and physically hauled to the construction sites. As a result, He developed a very strong, powerful, and muscular body.

B. With His strong physical build, early in His ministry, He drove out all the temple merchants, with their animals. When they saw Him overthrow and flip their heavy tables into the air, no one dared to challenge Him in spite of their big numbers (John 2:13-17).

C. This temple cleansing was repeated toward the end of His ministry. Remembering what He did and what they saw Him do just a couple of years earlier, again, in spite of their strategy to oppose Him this time, no one dared to challenge Him (Luke 19:46-48).

D. While He grew up in the city of Nazareth, He was NOT under any Nazarite vow which would have also prevented Him from drinking wine or touching to raise up the dead (Numbers 6:1-6). Therefore, He did NOT have long flowing hair. And as One Who perfectly obeyed God’s teachings, He was not guilty of having long hair, which was against the nature of a man (1 Corinthians 11:14).

6. The Messiah Obeyed All the Commands of God

Contrary to the popular belief and teaching that Jesus came to free us from obeying the laws and commandments of God, the true Messiah actually lived by and obeyed all of the commands of God (Matthew 5:17-20), including the keeping of the Sabbath (Luke 4:16).

The problem is that most do not know that He was the God of the Old Testament and that He was the One Who gave the Ten Commandments at Mt. Sinai (Exodus 31:18). He was also the God [Rock] that led Israel out of Egypt and into the Promised Land (1 Corinthians 10:4).

For more details on this topic, please read the article on this website: Who Was the God of the Old Testament?

Please know also that all of Christ’s teachings were directly from the Father Himself (John 7:16; 12:49-50; 14:10, 24).

7. The Messiah’s Name Was Not “Jesus”!

The biblical Messiah came from an Israelite family of the tribe of Judah who traced their lineage to Abraham and beyond. Coming from a very long generation of Hebrew families, obviously and logically, He had a Hebrew name!

Let us also remember that a person’s NAME is considered a proper noun which does NOT change — lest the true identity of that person gets lost. (I plan to write a more detailed article on this topic later.)

But meanwhile, have you noticed that:

Product names never change in any country or in any language in the whole world. Examples: Toyota, Ford, Samsung, Boeing, etc.

Personal names never change in any country or in any language in the whole world. Examples: Buddha, Mohammed, Albert Einstein, Adolf Hitler, etc.

But ENEMIES of a people historically attempted to change personal names! For example, after Babylon conquered Israel’s southern tribes, their leadership changed the names of the noble Hebrew lads into the following names: Daniel to Belteshazzar; Hananiah to Shadrach; Mishael to Meshach; and Azariah to Abed-Nego. (Daniel 1:7).

Digging even deeper into the history of Bible translations, the Romans who somehow historically hated the Jews, previously made corruptions to the true Hebrew names of those lads as reflected in the Latin Vulgate translation by Catholic theologian Jerome. In their original form, those Hebrew names contained derivatives of the Name of the God of Israel. Thus: Daniel’s name was actually: Dani’el; Hananyah; Misha’el; and Azaryah. Did you notice that they all contained derivatives of the Name of the God of Israel: “El” and “Yah”?

Whose Right Is It to Give the Messiah His Name?

Let us remember that only the Father — and no one else — has the right to give the correct name to His Son. Therefore, to make sure that this will truly be done, the Father personally sent the Angel Gabriel to both Yoseph and Mariam [their Hebrew names] to dictate to them the Name of the Child which was to be born. That Name is Yahshua [prior to its corruption into “Jesus” in most Bible versions] (Matthew 1:20; Luke 1:26-38). And there was a very important meaning for that Name: “for He shall save His people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21). Since God also names beings for what they are to fulfill prophecy, the Son may also be referred to as “Immanu’el,” which means “God [El] with us” (Matthew 1:23; Isaiah 7:14).

When Did “J” Appear in the Roman Alphabet?

The letter “J” [considered the youngest letter in the Roman alphabet] was just added in the last 400 years. Prior to that time, there was NO such thing as the letter “J.”

For proof, please look at the Geneva Bible of 1588, and other literature of that time period. You will not find any letter “J” in the text! Therefore, the name “Jesus” is NOT found there, except the Greek “Iesous” which does not mean anything in either the Latin or in the Greek languages — except to a pagan deity of healing, and to the chief Greek god “Zeus.” This name “Jesus” started to be popularized only in the King James Bible, then copied in other English Bible versions.

Did you notice such massive and systematic Satanic corruption and deception? This is truly and indeed a very glaring infallible fulfillment of Revelation 12:9!

For comments on the Name Yahshua, please read Appendix 1 at the end of this article. For more scholarly research and details on the name “Jesus,” please also read Appendix 2 below.

The traditional Jesus taught, proclaimed, and worshipped by this world’s Christianity is completely different from the biblical Messiah of the Bible in the following manner:

And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free [from false traditions].
~John 8:32

Now that you know the real facts, will you be able to distinguish the true Messiah from the false but popular traditional Jesus? Whom would you obey and worship now? God is watching your humility and obedience on this matter and He can read your heart, mind, and attitude.

Appendix 1

The name Yahshua means Yahweh’s salvation, so by stating His name and then showing what the name means “He will save His people from their sins” clearly show the Aramaic writing style that does not exist in Greek. The name “Jesus” has no such etymology in Greek and comes from “Ieasous” which is the masculine form of the pagan goddess of healing Ieasa.
~Footnote on Matthew 1:21, from the Hebrew Roots Bible, page 1176.

Appendix 2

Jesus: Consider Iesous, rendered as “Jesus” in the English versions up to now. For example, the authoritative Greek-English Lexicon of Liddell & Scott, under Iaso, the Greek goddess of healing reveals that the name Iaso is Ieso in the Ionic dialect of the Greeks, Iesous being the contracted genitive form. In David Kravitz, Dictionary of Greek and Roman Mythology, we found a similar form, namely Iasus. There were four different Greek deities with the name of Iasus, one of them being the son of Rhea. Further, it is well known that Ies is the abbreviated form of the name Iesous, and Dr. Bullinger, in The Apocalypse, p. 396, says Ies was part of the name of Bacchus. Also see Come Out of Her, My People, by C. J. Koster.

The original KJV translators consistently translated the Greek term Iesous as Jesus even when referring to Joshua (Yehoshua) son of Nun in Ib’rim [Hebrews] 4:8, thereby recognizing that the same term should be used throughout. Modern translators have opted in Ib’rim 4:8 to render Iesous as Joshua (Yehoshua) thus recognizing that the Greek term was a placeholder for the original Hebrew Name, but have inconsistently not rendered Iesous as Joshua (Yehoshua) throughout the rest of the Messianic Writings (N.T.).

Very good site. I was very happy to scan through some of your articles, and also this last one. But one question: you say that Christs ” existence was from eternity ” and you refer to John 1:1-2. But this word only claims that he was from the beginning. Are there any place where it is written that he was from eternity ( whatever it means ) ?

    1. Edmond Macaraeg

      Hello Arne,
The word “beginning” [G746, Greek, “arche”] as used in John 1:1 does NOT limit when that beginning is. Therefore, it is infinite–which means it is equivalent to the word “eternity” which means no beginning.
Thanks for asking a clarification of that word, Arne.
